Review

I have certainly read a lot of Amish books, but I must say that, until now, I have never read an Amish murder mystery!  But I am so glad I did. I found this book very intriguing.  The characters were interesting, the setting was charming and the plot was well laid out.  The mystery was a good one and kept me guessing. There was nothing too scary, which I appreciated, but  there were plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing.  There was even some romance thrown in that appealed to my romantic side!  All in all it was a great read.

    Review

I simply loved the Women of Lancaster County series and was so excited to get this first book in the new series, Men of Lancaster County!  As I expected, the writing was excellent and the storytelling was enthralling.  This gave me insight into the thought process of an Amish man with ties to the Englisch world that I haven’t really considered much before.  There are tough choices to be made and your emotions will run the gamut as you root for Tyler to find happiness.

      Review

This is a story of a young man who has lost his way and then made his way back to his simple life and faith.  Not without struggle, I might add.  This book is an encouragement to us who do not have a pristine past, reminding us that God knows us just as we are and loves us anyway.  It also focuses on forgiveness of others, yes, but also for our own past mistakes. Of course this book has romance and the character of Josie is sweet, yet strong, and a life-line to Caleb.  All in all it was a touching tale of love and forgiveness and a sweet romance.

        Review

This is a unique twist on the usual Amish novel.  The plot revolves around the family of Bishop Beiler.  One family member  is eager to break out into the English world.  However, a local English girl is just as eager to learn more about the Amish lifestyle by moving in with the Beiler family.  You will find many interesting twists and turns as the chapters unfold. The book kept me eager to turn the pages.  This was a new author for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed his writing.  I look forward to reading more of his books.

            Review

I love Amish fiction and I felt that this particular book was an excellent read.  It really was a faith-based book with a mix of several genres.  While I wouldn’t call it a romance novel, it did have some romance.  While I wouldn’t call it a mystery novel, it did have mystery.  You get the picture!  If you enjoy reading Amish fiction or if you never have before but want to try it out then this would be a good book to read. It’s a story of love, faith, and forgiveness. I do highly recommend this book.

              Review

The author does a wonderful job in her books capturing the Pennsylvania Amish life and culture and you will not be disappointed in this book where she writes two Christmas novellas about two sets of twins.  While it was a very enjoyable read during the Christmas holidays, it can be enjoyed all year round.  Both stories revolved around twin siblings, each with their own problems and thoughts, during the holiday season.  Both story lines are intriguing and unique.  Cameron was very creative coming up with idea of basing the stories on characters who were twins and how being a twin affected them in their particular culture.  At the end of the stories you get five Pennsylvania Dutch recipes to try in your own kitchen, and group discussion guide to use in book clubs.

                Review

This was a wonderful book that really added meaning to my holiday season.  All three talented authors bring share a sweet story with different plots and  different perspectives that will delight any fan of Amish fiction. I liked them all so much that I found it really hard to pick out a favorite. The authors did a wonderful job depicting the Amish lifestyle and how family, community, and love of God encompasses their daily lives.  These are stories of love, sacrifice, and willingness to follow God’s leading, even when it is not comfortable to do so.  While this is a book of Christmas novellas, I feel that the stories can be enjoyed all year long.
